Hey folks,

Thanks a lot for sharing your impressions. To be honest, I expected more positive feedback on this new feature... But thanks to you, now I understand why it is time-consuming and why it's perceived as a workaround / temporary solution instead.

Let's not get confused and analyse first which problems exist with generals (and other specialists, but let's focus on generals)

1. generals which aren't used take up space on the home island
2. when one has a lot of generals it's hard to have sufficient landing space/ building place
3. generals (and other specialists) are sorted randomly in the star menu
4. generals are sorted randomly in the "send army" sub menu (adventures)
5. "send army" sub menu shows third row partially

Issue 1
The feature which allows you to send generals to your start menu adresses issue 1, and in no way seems to intend to fix any of the other issues. It obviously can't, because these are completely different issues. In that sense fixing issue 1 isn't a workaround for any of the other issues.

Issue 2
This thread is about issue 2, and in no way relates to issue 1.

Issue 3
qwerty adresses this issue.

Having a default ordering of your generals in the category is what qwerty is talking about, and what people are missing.
Generals etc are still randomly ordered in the star menu.
Using generals from your star menu is not something one often does anyway, so in my opinion this isn't really a great feature, sorted or unsorted. But it could be better, but if I would have to choose, I would fix issue 4 first

Issue 4
Personally I am far more frustrated that the generals in the adventure sub menu "send army" are sorted randomly.
This menu is used far more often and it's sorted differently each time you use (open) it, this makes no sense.
It would make sense to have a default high to low ordening, and/ or a ordening where generals with troops in them are at the top, or to let the user set their own default ordening.
Now you have to scroll 30 generals to see which one you need.
Which brings up issue 5.

Issue 5
Generals in the "send army" sub menu are only shown by 2 rows.
The third row is partially hidden, so it's impossible to directly see what's inside them (yes I know the mouseover works).
Another annoying software design flaw.

@Qwerty, it's still a good thing that we have the basic tab categorization in the Star Menu, rather than no order at all.

A category is not the same as a order; the order of the generals is the same with or without the category...

Ik bedoel idd de generaals op een door mij gekozen volgorde zetten als ze dan toch in het stermenu komen. \ik heb dan wel niet spectaculair veel generaals, maar de expeditieleverancier staat nu bv midden tussen de verkenners en een magere hein tussen de vets.
Tabjes zijn prima, had het in mijn eerste speeljaar ook fantastisch geworden, maar door de veelheid aan items die ik in de loop der jaren verzameld heb is het per tabje, m.n specialisten en verbeteringen, inmiddels ook een onoverzichtelijk geheel geworden.

Ik ben blij met de nieuwe feature, maar die lost maar 1 klein dingetje op, en qua generaals/ sortering/ stuur naar avo is er nog een lange weg te gaan (vind ik)

Of course I know what Qwerty meant by "order". I was pointing out a positive feature of the Star Menu - categorization (as I am an optimistic person and I always choose to look on the bright side of things).
I also understand why you're frustrated when you're sending out generals to the adventure zone.

All in all, I hope we can agree that this is still an improvement as it will enable you to place in the Star the generals that you don't use at all (especially the marshals for the ones who don't play PvP anymore). It is indeed time-consuming for the popular generals (MMAs, Veterans, Major Generals etc) that you guys use almost every day, but it can be used for the rest of the generals with no issue.

Dank u wel om de tijd te nemen in het Engels te schrijven.
Natuurlijk weet ik wat Qwerty bedoelde met "order". Ik lichtte een positieve aanpassing uit van het stermenu - categorisatie (omdat ik een optimistisch persoon ben
en altijd de zonnige kant van de dingen bekijk).
Ik begrijp ook waarom u gefrustreerd bent wanneer u uw generaals naar een avontuurzone stuurt.

Al bij al, ik hoop dat wij kunnen overeenkomen dat nog steeds een verbetering is omdat u de mogelijkheid hebt om generaal die u niet gebruikt terug te plaatsen in het stermenu (vooral dan de maarschalken voor diegene die geen PvP willen doen. Het is inderdaad tijdrovend om de populaire generaals (MiV, veteranen, majoor generaals etc.) die jullie spelers bijna elke dag gebruiken, maar het kan gebruikt worden voor de overige generaals zonder bijkomende problemen.

Met de optie dat je gens weer terug in het stermenu kan plaatsen, kan er dan ook over de icoontjes in het stermenu, van je generaals die in je stermenu staan een aanduiding komen dat deze in het stermenu staan? Bijvoorbeeld een huisje of een ster onderin het generaals icoontje. Dan weet je welke wel of niet direct beschikbaar zijn zonder er op te moeten klikken. Ook handig in avo's waar te weinig landingsplekken zijn en je moet uitzoeken welke gens je nog neer moet zetten.

This might be an issue for players owning a lot of generals.
