Dag van het Handschrift
Dear calligrapher,
Today it's not common anymore to send a hand-written letter; writing by hand is seen as an elegant activity of the past. Today it’s Handwriting Day and it does not only ask you to put your pen to the paper, but also to share some of your special achievements throughout the years.
• When was the last time you actually wrote a letter by hand?
• Do you write down notes about tactic maps by hand or on a virtual notepad on your PC?
• Did you create a made-up alphabet for your settlers or did you ever think about creating your very own "letters" for your island?
If you create something special and outstanding using the art of letters, share your experiences with the Community!
Happy writing,
BB_Sious

Een passender titel voor dit onderwerp zou waarschijnlijk "Dag van het Font" zijn geweest, want de meesten van ons gebruiken de pen vermoedelijk alleen nog voor boodschappenlijstjes of iets dergelijks.
Dus... i.p.v. "Dag van het Handschrift," was, IMHO, "Zeg maar adieu tegen het handschrift" geschikter geweest. (My 2 cents, but hey who cares).

Hi Heremiet,
Thank you very much for your comment. It is much appreciated. We all know that handwriting, especially cursive writing has somewhat taken a back seat to touch typing in the digital age and yet it has endured. After all, it does provide some cognitive benefits and it is still an effective medium of communication.
In today's age of SMS, Emojis and emails, wouldn't it be something of a novel experience to receive a handwritten letter from someone?
Regards,
