Inviting a friend: how does it work?

Dear players,

As you already know, The Settlers Online allows you to send an email invitation to your friends to join your game. In order to access this feature, go to "My profile" section on the website, and scroll down to "Invitations".

Recently, the Community raised a few questions as to how this feature actually works. Based on this, we have prepared a FAQ:

1. Is there a timer that resets after some time in order to invite the same friend again?

No, once an invitation is sent out to an email account, that account cannot be invited again. You will also receive a pop-up message when attempting to re-invite a friend. Moreover, your invited friends appear under "Your invitations" section of the Invitations category on the website.

2. Is there any way to invite the same friend again if they deleted the previous email invitation?

The friend can still be invited as long as they use a different email address. The invitation cannot be resent to the same email address.

3. Will the email invitation expire after some time, if they haven't opened it?

The invitations have no expiration date.

4. What happens if I invite my friend to a full game world?

You can invite a friend to a game world that displays 100% server capacity, as there are some slots reserved above that amount for friend invitations. If that extra capacity, which is based on the active player count, is also reached, the registration will fail. The invited friend can retry the registration process from the same mail at any time, however, they will simply need to delete the browser cookies, otherwise, they will receive an automatic registration fail.

Recent kwamen er vragen vanuit jullie hoe dit werkt. Om deze reden is er een FAQ gemaakt:

1. Is er een klok die reset na een bepaalde tijd zodat je dezelfde vriend weer kan uitnodigen?

Nee, eens een uitnodiging gestuurd is naar een email account, kan dat account niet opnieuw uitgenodigd worden. Er zal een pop up bericht komen wanneer geprobeerd wordt een vriend opnieuw uit te nodigen. Bovendien zullen je uitgenodigde vrienden verschijnen onder "Jouw uitnodigingen" van de Uitnodigingen categorie op de website.

2. Is er een manier om een uitgenodigde vriend opnieuw uit te nodigen als deze de uitnodiging via email verwijderd heeft?

De vriend kan opnieuw uitgenodigd worden zolang er een ander email adres gebruikt wordt. De uitnodiging kan niet opnieuw verstuurd worden naar hetzelfde email adres.

3. Vervalt de email uitnodiging na een bepaalde tijd als deze niet geopend is?

De uitnodigingen hebben geen verval datum.

4. Wat gebeurt er als ik mijn vriend heb uitgenodigd en de wereld vol is?

Je kan een vriend uitnodigen naar een wereld die 100% capaciteit aangeeft, dit omdat er plekken gereserveerd zijn, bovenop deze capaciteit, voor het uitnodigen van vrienden. Als de extra capaciteit, welke gebaseerd is op actie spelers, ook bereikt is zal de registratie niet lukken. De uitgenodigde vriend kan het registratie proces nogmaals proberen vanuit dezelfde email op elk gewenst tijdstip, hiervoor dienen ze wel de browser cookies te verwijderen anders zal er een melding komen dat registeren mislukt is.
